ARGH. Can you see what I did wrong? Of COURSE it w ARGH. Can you see what I did wrong? Of COURSE it was on the first corner (of four, duh) and I didn’t find it until I got there on the following round. UGH! #sarahpeasleyhandknitter #notaverygoodcrocheter
I’m going to try posting my very first Facebook I’m going to try posting my very first Facebook Live today (Monday, November 23, 2020 at 5:00pm EST) from my business Facebook page (Sarah Peasley Handknitter). I’ll be talking about the Lunchtime Zoom whatever-alongs that I host from Woven Art Yarn Shop in East Lansing (every Wednesday from noon-1:00 EST). Hope to “see” you later today! #sarahpeasleyhandknitter #wovenartshop
NEW CLASS!! BUTTONS AND ZIPPERS: Whether buttons a NEW CLASS!! BUTTONS AND ZIPPERS: Whether buttons are destined to be the shining stars of your project or to blend into the background, whether they're functional or purely decorative, learn to sew them on properly and securely. Curious about adding a zipper instead? Okay, let's do it! (There's not much to it!) In two hours, you'll make a little button-embellished zippered pouch to keep things in. Make more, and you'll have a pretty pile of tiny gifts – or of tiny gift holders!

PLEASE NOTE: THIS CLASS WILL TAKE PLACE ON ZOOM. Date: Saturday, December 19, 2020
Time: 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm EST
Cost: $45 (to register and for payment info, send an email to sarah at sarahpeasley dot com)

Yarn: We're looking for a dense, bulky fabric that will support the weight of the buttons, won't get caught in the zipper, and won't require a lining. Use something fun from your stash. You are welcome to hold two or more strands together.

Needles/Hook: Whatever works with the yarn(s) you have chosen.

Other supplies:
blunt needle for seaming knitted/crocheted fabric
scissors
at least three buttons (sizes can vary)
one with four holes
one with two holes
one with no holes and with a shank on the back
4" non-separating zipper (Woven Art in East Lansing carries them!)
needle for sewing on buttons and zipper
at least two colors of thread
one to match or to contrast with the buttons or fabric – your choice!
one to contrast with both the zipper and the knitted/crocheted fabric
Homework: Knit or crochet a rectangle measuring approximately 6" x 8". You want the fabric to be dense so you won't have to line your little pouch, so something like garter stitch or single crochet or double crochet will work great. Keep the fabric simple, so the buttons and zipper can shine!

Please don't hesitate to let me know if you have any questions!
