Instruction

I have a lifetime of personal knitting experience. I’ve been teaching classes locally, nationally, and virtually for a really, really long time (since 2000!). I’m also a technical editor of knitting, crochet, and weaving books, patterns, and magazines. In other words, I know a thing or two!

Do you need just a little poke to get your project up and running again? Do you need a whole lotta hand-holding from start to finish? Do you want to learn how to do a specific thing (or lots of specific things)? Are you stuck for ideas?

I promise to hold your hand, provide clear instruction, offer words of encouragement, and patiently answer every question.

What would you like to know?

Here are some examples of things you can ask me about:

  • Can you figure out where was I when I put this project down umpteen years ago?
  • What can I make with this yarn in my stash?
  • I never know what size I should make — can you help me figure it out?
  • Can you please help me find a pattern in Ravelry to make the kind of thing I want to make?
  • I’ve always wanted to know how to do Fair Isle — can you teach me?
  • I have an idea in my head but I don’t know how to make it work.
  • My dog grabbed my knitting and ran around the house — can you help me get everything back on the needles?
  • I don’t know how to pick up stitches properly — can you show me how?
  • Will you teach me how to knit socks?

It’s easy to schedule a visit for a day, time, and place to meet! Fees are based on time: $30/half hour; $50/hour. Payment is due at time of service. Cash or checks are preferred, payment apps will work in a pinch.
